Financial Assistance

The Society has around 100 beneficiaries living around the country who remain in their own homes with the support of a quarterly charitable pension or small grant to increase their independence.  This may be help with a lifeline such as help with their telephone rental costs or essential items to aid day-to-day living independently. Each case is assessed individually on its merits by the Trustees, taking into account length of service to the Industry.

Unfortunately, with the decline in donations from the Baking Industry there are limited resources available and we are unable to award grants to cover major home repairs, student loans/bursaries, respite/holidays, funeral costs and debt reduction. However, we can act as a signpost to other services and other organisations and benevolent funds.

Under the Rules of the Charity, to qualify as a beneficiary of the Society, an individual has to have retired from work and given service within the Baking Industry or it’s Allied Trades.
